I understand why you guys created tile intentions...makes sense. That said, at the end-of-the-day, it's really just a mechanism to control styling, why not open that up? Allow the creation of tile intentions with styling options and people can create whatever they'd like!

Hi all,I'm new to actiontiles and I'm trying to get the control of my thermostat working. 

My panel shows the current temperature of the thermostat but doesn't give me the option to change the temperrature.

I have full control in smarthings but when I first setup actiontiles and I sync with smarthings and imported my devices it wasn't in the list  

Can someone advise what may be the problem?

I would like my fire tablets under Fully browser to open my camera media tile fullscreen when motion are detected. Since fully browser support REST and js call, is there a way to do that from webcore maybe ?

It would be awesome if we could change the destination of a tile.  For example, adding a tile displaying the current temperature, but change the destination to anything else.  Such as a different panel or pops up the thermostat settings, etc.  Another idea would be a static icon, that links to a media content (such as showing a simple "CCTV" icon that when clicked opens the full-screen live camera media content.  (Instead of showing the live content in the small tile)

Is there a way to auto sort devices within a tile by status?  For example, I have over 50 things.  I want to monitor battery status so I know which are lowest.  Can it auto-sort by lowest battery level so I dont have to visually scan all 50 looking for ones with low batttery.

Similarly, I want to monitor temperature on the property.  Can it auto-sort highest to lowest for summer and then lowest to highest for winter.  

Anyone know a good app for fire tablets that can play an alarm or other notification sound when there are weather alerts?

For anyone else who is interested, I also wanted to have weather displayed on my screen. Thanks to others on this site, I found that the local news station did have static URLs for the daily/local weather, so I could just add those to a media tile, and it worked fine.

However, the images had a lot of unused space, and on the tablet was hard to see. I also then found I didn't want a lot of the extra data, and decided to poke around. I ended up writing a script that copies the images down locally, then crops the images, and for one of them combines two images into a single image.

It's more complex than some people may want, but for those of you who like to tinker and hack at what we can do, you will probably appreciate it.

I use RPi Cam Web Interface on a Raspberry Pi for a security camera and I'm trying to get that working in AT.  Details here:

But I can't get this to work in AT.  Any help would be gratefully received.

I've read where AT can't reset SHM alerts but are they working on that or is there any kind of work around? I still use a Windows Phone (because I love it and I'm stubborn) and I have NO WAY to reset SHM alerts if I enable security!! 

I know they are new but I was wondering if there is a way add the video feed from the new Smartthing Cam to action tiles?

Is there a way to launch a shortcut to a contact in WhatsApp in AT? The idea would be an easy way for someone to press the shortcut and it would launch WhatsApp into the specific contact 

I've searched for any previous posts about this, but maybe I'm the first to ask about it. I find that hard to believe. 

We've got the ability to have the SHM tile, which seems to work well. Within the SmartThings app, SHM lives in a card on my dashboard called "Home Solutions". The other thing that lives in that card is "Smart Locks". 

"Smart Locks" is actually really useful..... So, why can't I have a tile for "Smart Locks" in AT like I have for SHM?  I just want a single tile that shows if all doors are locked or displays how many are unlocked. If I click it, it should either take me to another panel or perhaps a pop up like the pin pad that lists all of my locks (preferably with a button at the top that I can click to lock all), or check each individual lock on that panel to either lock or unlock separately. 

Is Samsung just not allowing access to that function?

If you happen to have an old Microsoft Surface RT around, you know it's not good for much anymore.  However, it makes a great wall panel for Action Tiles.

If you have one of these, I've created two 3D-printable files that you can use.

The first is a frame.  Printed in white (or whatever is complimentary to your wall color), it gives the project a finished look.

I have known about it for a while, but not heard of any Customers trying it - until today.

I'm having an issue with a shortcut url tile that opens a Skype call to a person. I followed the knowledgebase article to set up the shortcut and the tile. From my PC and phone it works fine. Opens Skype with the contact and I can click start call to call the contact. It works this way on my Fire HD 8 in portrait mode as well. However, in landscape it hangs on the Skype chats screen. Sometimes I briefly see the call screen but the chat screen pops over top of it. If I rotate the tablet to landscape then the call screen displays. Any ideas?

Forgot to add that landscape works fine if Skype is opened manually and then click on contact then video call or if I modify the shortcut to Skype: which opens Skype from the tile and repeat manual call steps.

I wrote a script for creating a countdown image.  I wanted to be able to supply a date (or dates), and then have a countdown that updates each day.  You do need somewhere to run the script and a PC that can be a web server (most can do this without to much issue). 

You can pick the date, adjust the font, the font size, and even add a background image to the tile if you want.

As my Fully browser loads a message pops up, stating the “App Stopped Working” the app works fine and the message is persistent. My panels all work. The only way to remove the message is to close the Fully browser. The second I reopen it the message returns. 

Nothing has changed in my setup over the last few days. 

I know the message is not connected to actiontiles but I was hoping someone else had experienced this and had a solution. 

If my display is on our Light Monitoring panel, for example, for longer than 20 minutes (configurable), I'd like for my display to redirect back to the Main panel.  Bonus points if I can programmatically turn this off (for example, I'd like to create a tile on a page to disable that feature if I truly want to monitor the page longer than the timeout period).

i have a samsung washing machine, that shows up in my ST app.
Ive been able to authorise it within AT (shows up as "washing machine" in the 2nd grouping list).

however when i go to add this as a "thing" - its not listed? What am i missing sorry

Now that spring is upon us, I find myself redoing all my panels to switch the heating thermostats into cooling thermostats. This process involves adding the cooling thermostats to the panel, arranging them so they are next to the old heating thermostats and then removing the old heating thermostats. For 3 panels. I'll have to do the same thing in reverse in 6 months. Instead, can AT show the heating or cooling thermostat automatically based on the System mode of the thermostat in question? Or add a new "Dynamic Thermostat" tile to keep backward compatibility? Or if that's too difficult, allow an easy toggle in the tile settings to flip it between heating and cooling? The Dual thermostat takes up too much room on my screen to use like this.
