Fire tablet can see tiles - Android tablet can't on local media tiles
I have a very strange issue going on and I'm hoping someone can offer up a suggestion to try that I haven't tried already.
I have some Media Tiles that get images from a web server on the local network.
My Fire Tablet gets these images just fine over it's Wi-Fi connection.
My Android phone and Android Tablet don't get the images over the same Wi-Fi connection to the local network.
Does the Fire do HTTP requests differently than Android?
Does Android block local requests somehow? I can get to other web pages (on the local network over wifi) just fine with the Android browsers?
I'm open to anything at this point.
Thank you!
Jay

Screen Saver to use NAS Picture Folder
I tried Dakboard but I don't like the slow loading time from AT the Dakboard website. I would rather my tablet just cycle pics from a folder on my NAS. Is this possible? I played with folder sharing on my QNAP NAS but couldn't figure out how to get fully to point to it. I could just download pics to the tablet but I want my wife to be able to dump her preferred pics to a NAS folder and fully cycle them (I don't want to have to manage the pics, LOL)

Can we have an app to keep panel full screen and run on unlock?
Existing way of running the panels in Chrome (or other) browser doesn't seem to keep them in immersive mode (on Android). Any home screen shortcut created runs full screen, but not immersive on the phones and tablets I have tried. If we had a dedicated app that launches the page, it could be coded to always stay in immersive mode, rather than having to press the full screen button inside ActionTiles. It would also remain immersive after a link had been launched and returned from, such as to run Spotify. Such an app could also potentially have options to launch it immediately after unlocking the device, or set it up as a home screen app so that it can be a launcher to replace the home screen if the device was a dedicated ActionTiles device.

Can I link a tile to Apple Music?
I would like to link a tile to Apple Music so that I can play my playlist from there.

Scale or change units value of Power Meter
My Power Meter tiles currently displays power usage in watts, optionally with decimals. That's fine and dandy but for display purposes I'd find it useful to be able to apply a multiplier to the value supplied by SmartThings so I can use my own units. Those units might be kilowatts, ergs per second, horsepower, BTU per hour or (much) more likely my own user defined units which may differ for each device. With or without a multiplier it would be useful to be able to override the footer text for the tile.
There is also an ulterior motive, as using two of the less expensive available smart plugs in the UK (Hive Active Plug and Salus SP600) with the Zigbee Switch Power DTH to avoid using a custom DTH results in a reported power usage that is a factor of ten too low for whatever reason. So my choice of user defined units would 'correct' that. Again if I can't scale the value being able to have e.g. 'Power / 10' as the footer text would be a useful visual aid for me.
I guess parts of this may have the potential to fall foul of 'Works With SmartThings' in some way, but it is worth asking.

Alternate text for tile item name
Is there a way to have an "Alt tag" type of setting for devices? Some of my device names are fairly long to help me identify them in other apps/scripting - for example "Window_KitchenNook." Names like this are causing overlap on my panel. I'm wondering if there is a way to have it display a different name on the panel?
Hopefully this isn't a duplicate, I did search but might not be using the right terms.

Ability to fix the State of a Tile via Long Press
The https://bondhome.io/ app has an awesome feature to "fix" the status of their tiles.
For example, if someone turns my fan light using the fan remote, my BOND app would not show as the light is on. In order to fix it, I just hold down any tile in their app (in this case the fan light tile) and it corrects the status of the tile.
So by holding it down it changes the tile from off to showing on without sending a command to the fan.
If a feature like that could be added for your tiles would be awesome.
Hope this made sense.

Thanks for the feedback / idea...
Some Feature Requests fall into the bucket of being too much of a "rare edge case" or have other practicality issues, that we are unlikely to give it much consideration. Sure... we'll keep the Topic open for a while in case we have underestimated interest and it gathers Votes or additional use-case comments.
So there's two concerns:
- "Long Press" is not a gesture option for a Material Design (and "Accessible") compliant web-app. Long press should reveal the text tooltip in most cases (like a hover with a mouse). I use Nova Launcher for Android, and, indeed, it recognizes all sorts of unique gestures, such as long-press and swipe-across-icon. We don't plan to add this hidden layer of complexity to ActionTiles; but it could happen in some far future generation. So if we offered special functionality like this, it would have to be via the standard Tile overflow menu (...).
- We know there are various types of Devices that do not relay their State Changes back to SmartThings (and, in turn, ActionTiles) when acted upon manually or via some other type of control like Alexa Voice. Even certain brands of Z-Wave light-switches may not report manual activation, due to a patent restriction from Lutron. Still ... we don't think it should be a household member's responsibility to "manually" fix or override the Tile State, especially since that still leaves the SmartThings Cloud out of sync (and thus the SmartThings App and any SmartApps that subscribe to the Device, etc.). Many Device Type Handlers periodically "poll" the physical device to determine if the State has changed and thus eventually update. In other cases, the displayed state is not critical, since if the fan has been turned "on" via remote and the Tile still indicates "off", simply tapping the tile twice will ensure it is turned "off" (i.e., first tap will switch the Tile to "on" and send the on() command to the Fan (which should be harmlessly ignored; and the second tap will switch the Tile to "off" and send the off() command to the Fan, resulting in the desired consistent state).
There is no mechanism in ActionTiles to change the State of a Tile without it having (a) been tapped, and/or (b) receiving a State Change Event from SmartThings.
Thanks,
...Terry.

Anyone control Robovac hoover with ActionTiles?
Has anyone know or have done on action tiles that controls there if hoover. Just something I through the of last night as mine is set on a timer. But if I need it to come out for a reason I have to use the remote to get it out or ask Alexa. But would be good if I could just press a tile to start it.
I’m quite new to scene of tiles and all. I have added what I have as smart devices to it. But a couple I can’t at the moment which I no can’t as yet but I’ve not seen or heard anything bout a hoover.
Anyone got any ideas?!!

3x1 media tile rendering 2x1 on iPhone 7+
Hi,
In my panel "Phone Vert", I have a 3x1 media tile that is set up as 3x1 at the source (http://jggdev.com/atiles/weather.php?loc=92563&titleColor=1e97ff&backgroundColor=1e97ff&static=true&layout=3X1)
It renders as 3x1 on iPhone 7, but on iPhone 7+ it renders as a 2x1. Here are screenshots from Safari dev mode, but this is the same as displayed on the phones:

Hi Tim,
We don't have the direct solution for your problem, yet. The algorithm to compute tile position is too complex to mess with without the risk of introducing unintended side effects.
However, with the introduction of the new customization features in AT V6.7, there are now reasonable workarounds to try to make your layout work for you.
You could try increasing the Tile Size (115px) or Tile Spacer slightly. That will cause the grid to be recalculated and tiles should keep their intended proportions. Your layout falls into the narrow margin of error and we just need to tweak the layout slightly.
Please let us know if this works for you.
Thanks
Alex

Battery in footer for Thermostat Tile?
I am looking to see if the battery percentage is on the thermostat. I see it for temp, humidity and battery tiles, but not the thermostat tiles. Is it planned for the single and dual thermostat tiles in v6?

Main Tiles for Things which are typically not powered by Batteries (e.g., Outlets, Switches, and Thermostats, ...) curently do not have the battery option available for their footers.
Thermostats are a good example, I guess, of Things that some Customer power via Battery (due to lack of a C-Wire from their heating/cooling system). We will try to add Battery as an option someday.

Help getting Media Tile URL from NOAA satellite?
I found this link: https://www.star.nesdis.noaa.gov/GOES/GOES16_CONUS_Band.php?band=GEOCOLOR&length=72
Which has a really cool looking weather .GIF loop. However, the way the site is setup, I cannot turn it into a Media tile. Anyone have any ideas on how show the loop in a tile?

Light dimming and volume control high latency
Hi there - can anyone share a solution or similar experience to my issue? Specifically, I'm experiencing a noticeable lag (latency ~ <1sec) when adjusting volume (i.e. Sonos) and also on dimmable lights. The usability is a bit laggy and not smooth for granular control.
Also, does the number and type of tiles (gifs, etc.) on a dashboard impact the latency from a UX standpoint? Note, I have a "global" dashboard with several gif animations, shortcut links (sonos, harmony, panels, etc).
I'm using Safari on an iPad (4th Gen; iOS 10.3.3).
Also noticing the same lagging issue using PIN authorization on Smart Home Monitor (or any tile enabled tile security).
P.S. I'm new to AT and absolutely loving it...what a great discovery!
Cheers!

Nest Cam (Hello) Tile issues on Fire tablets
I have Actiontiles working great with the Nest Hello doorbell video streaming in an action tile. Works on desktops and most tablets, but it is a blank tile on all Fire Tablets.
I even tried developer mode in 5.6.x in FireOS and tested various setting but the tile still does not show up. I was wanting my doorbell feed to be on my dashboard but this is now a showstopper since i dont want to devote an iPad for the screen.
Please let me know any workarounds!!
Thanks!

Cannot Rename or Hide New or Existing Tileset Titles (v6.7.4)
Please note that Changes to the Tileset Title and/or "Hide Tileset title on Panel" property are no longer updated and saved after making edits.
Tested on Safari and Chrome browsers, both mobile and desktop.

Traffic conditions
I'm trying to find a way to add on a tile (Fire tablet) for traffic conditions in Honolulu using this link but I can't get it to work. Please let me know if this is possible or not. Also if there is a way to zoom in that would help too. Thank you

Media Tile Data Reload Questions
Since Google has started charging for the use of the Maps API, I've changed the way I'm using the Shield.io call for real-time travel time and I want to make sure I understand how/when the Media Tile makes data calls. Here are the specific questions:
1. If the "Refresh rate for still images or GIFs" parameter is left blank, for a "still image or GIF" then will the url will only be called or updated when the panel is loaded, reloaded, or the media tile is clicked?
2. If the "Refresh rate" is set to something else (say 600 seconds), is the url called every 600 seconds regardless of if the media tile is on an active panel, or does it get called regardless?
3. If I have ActionTiles running on multiple devices simultaneously, does each device make independent update calls or is there a single update call shared by the devices?
4. Finally, is there a way to set media refresh rates to be more frequent during the day and less frequent during the evening?
I know that Google is offering the first $200 of use for free, but five minute traffic updates for three travel locations exceeds the 20,000 API calls that that $200 covers.

Motorway Cameras?
Hi Guys,
Right so I live real close to the M1 and use it for travelling to family/going to work etc.. I used to have a media tile that showed the M1 camera because you can usually see if it's standstill from it. Previously I had to use another website that hosts it as whenever I viewed it on an ipad it'd come up with a different static image that'd never change. Now that websites been taken down and I can only view it by 'https://www.motorwaycameras.co.uk/imagehandlerx/?4947165839360' which doesn't work on ipad/iphones etc.. Does anyone have any workaround? I assume it's because it's using 'https' as the previous url was http.
Cheers.

Option to Hide the Value in Tile footers
Firstly - Thanks for Action tiles I use it exclusively as my Smartthings front End and I love it!
One thing that would be really nice and I think may quite easy to implement.
- An option in the Individual tile setup to display or hide the value, In the same way as the option to show a tile header.
Use case:
A Switch. I can clearly see the state of the switch from the color. I don't need to be told 'On' or 'Off' as well.
I use Simulated Indicators to show the state of various things from Webcore and it works well but the 'Open' and 'Closed' is irrelevant and it would be wonderful to have the option to remove it.

Skybell image or alerts in ActionTiles?
I have a SkyBell HD on the front door. Is it possible to get the Picture or Alert when the door bell rings into AT ?
Thanks
