If you happen to have an old Microsoft Surface RT around, you know it's not good for much anymore.  However, it makes a great wall panel for Action Tiles.

If you have one of these, I've created two 3D-printable files that you can use.

The first is a frame.  Printed in white (or whatever is complimentary to your wall color), it gives the project a finished look.

The second is a way to handle the charging cord, without needing to drill holes in your walls.

I'm having an issue with a shortcut url tile that opens a Skype call to a person. I followed the knowledgebase article to set up the shortcut and the tile. From my PC and phone it works fine. Opens Skype with the contact and I can click start call to call the contact. It works this way on my Fire HD 8 in portrait mode as well. However, in landscape it hangs on the Skype chats screen. Sometimes I briefly see the call screen but the chat screen pops over top of it. If I rotate the tablet to landscape then the call screen displays. Any ideas?

Forgot to add that landscape works fine if Skype is opened manually and then click on contact then video call or if I modify the shortcut to Skype: which opens Skype from the tile and repeat manual call steps.

As my Fully browser loads a message pops up, stating the “App Stopped Working” the app works fine and the message is persistent. My panels all work. The only way to remove the message is to close the Fully browser. The second I reopen it the message returns. 

Nothing has changed in my setup over the last few days. 

I know the message is not connected to actiontiles but I was hoping someone else had experienced this and had a solution. 

Does anyone have any recommendations on the best tablet for ActionTiles use that does NOT have a camera, front or back?

Looking for use in my airbnb and I'd like to avoid cameras completely.   People don't even trust them covered up :).

I have just bought an Amazon Fire tablet set it up and found that you need to complete a variety of work-arounds to get it to work with Action Tiles, leaving it on all the time / plugged in etc

I am starting fresh and don't mind paying a few quid extra for a tool / tablet that does the job perfectly.

• I want the tablet to be on a cradle, plugged in most of the time (on a table) but able to survive unplugged too.
• I want the tablet to wake on motion (and on press)
• I want to use a kiosk (fully) with Action tiles

What is the best / cheapest option ... ?

Crucially I want it to be 'easy' rather than a hack.

Having to download silk to download playstore and then have to do a workaround on a Fire to get Kiosk sounds worth spending the extra money to get a tablet that does not require this !

I would rather spend another 100 GBP for it to 'just happen' rather than have to spend hours on a a hack (that will frustrate me).

I am not price sensitive on this as the difference between an expensive and a cheap tablet is only about 100-200 GBP (I am based in the UK). I am not actually want the cheapest but the best for the simple use of using Action Tiles.

So, I don't want a cheap tablet but at the same time neither want to spend £1000 on a top iPhone. I think about 100 GBP is fine.

Crucially I want to have a working Android tablet that runs Action Tiles / Fully Kiosk, can run the motion sensor and work either plugged in or not.

A current and common tablet / phablet would be great and then things like wall fixings will be common too.

What would you suggest?

My music and video for my entire house is managed by control 4.  Does anyone know how I can launch my Control 4 app from Action Tiles on my Ipads? I see other app info but have no idea where to get the command string from. Thanks ahead of time!

Does anyone use a Surface 3 or Windows 10 tablet? If you do, which browser app do you use that's similar to Fully Kiosk i.e. has full screen mode, has screensaver (I use dakboard) and has camera motion sensing?

I have AT running on two Fire 8 tablets identically configured, and using licensed Fully with activate on camera motion configured. This works fine 99% of the time, but occasionally, I will find that AT is at the My Panels screen, the screen is dimmed, and neither motion nor activity on the screen restores the brightness. I have to fumble through Fire Settings on a very dim display and turn the display brightness back up.

Here's the thing. This happens about once every 4-6 weeks on one Fire 8, and several times a week on the other.

Some of my settings that might be pertinent:

• Web Content: Settings/Start URL: https:/app.actiontiles.com
• Device Management: Keep Screen On is enabled, Launch on Boot is enabled, Screen Off Timer is zero.
• Screen Saver: Set Screensaver Brightness to zero, and set Screensaver timer at 120 seconds.
• Motion Detection: Enable Visual Motion Detection on, Turn Screen on Motion on, Exit ScreenSaver on Motion on.

Does anybody know how to stop fully kiosk from closing every couple of hours?

I currently looking for options to power my wall mounted tablet.  (I really DONT want a 120V outlet above my keypad even if its hidden).

Option 1: I currently have a working Vista 20P alarm system with 2 keypads (Amdenco 6139).The keypad is powered from the alarm system (vista 20P).  I want to install my tablet direct above my keypad.  I was wondering If I could wire a 12v to 5v adapter direct to the working keypad.  Please note, Im keeping the keypad working.  Im still trying to find what the MAX output amps on this is. I have the supplemental Power attached but IDK if that applies to the keypads or not. I was hoping since this was a popular panel someone might know. 

Option 2: I do have a single pole light switch near by and was thinking of an inline 120V to 5v-usb and from the just need a small wire up to the tablet. Anyone have suggest on this way? (or links to these?)  I found one.  I would like to "hide" the converter(step down transformer) in the gangbox with the switch.

Has anyone found the perfect Panel sizing for the Kindle HD 10 and Kindle 7 by any chance?

To fill the Kindle 7 screen horizontally i have to have some of the tiles cut off at the bottom.

For the HD10 i have to have some blank space along the bottom as the panel does not scale correctly.

It does however scale fine for iPads.

Is there a way to better customise the resolution to fit Kindle devices, as i've tried playing around with everything on the Dimensions tab, but can't quite fit the full screen.

firstly, LOVE the software - spent hours getting everything setup, which im really happy with!

current setup includes a new FireHD 10" + Dock, Fully, ActionTiles - plus some other cool things like Ring, Rotation Control, Automateit etc...

My question:

I've setup fully to show my DakBoard home screen, with a button over to my AT.

I thought I had disabled all locks on my FireHD, however it somehow keeps locking, which is a real pain.

Any pointers, or can this not be stopped?

What i want is for Dakboard to always display but screen should sleep after 30 min (Black/dim) and then wake on touch/motion. Currently it just keeps locking and i have to swipe up to unlock (not a pain but just curious if i can stop this!)

I'm using a Kiosk SP browser from Microsoft Store its working fine but there no way to save the credential for Actiontiles I was wondering if someone had any luck using embedded credential I'm not sure how to do that. Also is there a software that you would recommend for Microsoft surface with 8.1 RT?

I'm doing my action tiles development from a PC, and am developing for a few different devices with different screen sizes. WHen on the PC, is there some kind of option that says "Preview for an 8" screen" (or, preview Amazon Fire 8)...  and then I could "Preview for a 9.7" screen" (or, preview iPad 6th Gen), etc. ? this would be helpful as I don't need every device in front of me -- or, when my panel is mounted, I can see what the adjustment will look like on various panels in my home.

I've set up a new Kindle Fire HD8 with Fully Kiosk (for Fire OS) and Action Tiles. I'm glad I discovered Action Tiles. This is a really great addition to the SmartThings Ecosystem. 

The only issue I have is that changing panels is a little slow. You can see parts of the page "repaginating" as it comes up. I've tried disabling most of the unnecessary features on the tablet already. Any suggestions to improve speed of transitions between panels?

I have a Tesla Model 3. One of the many things that is lacking in the Tesla browser is their favorites management (i.e. can't sort or organize). ActionTiles mostly works great in the Tesla browser, and I was hoping shortcuts would work well for this. But, when I click on a shortcut, nothing happens. Are other Tesla owners experiencing this?

I love the larger keypad. But I have been having difficulty entering PIN. Is there any way to reduce the sensitivity of the keypad? I am frequently entering double digits with each touch.
