Netatmo: No Thermostat Tile option

Kevin Spencer 5 years ago in Things & Capabilities updated by Alex (ActionTiles) (Co-Founder) 5 years ago 5

Hi all,I'm new to actiontiles and I'm trying to get the control of my thermostat working.

My panel shows the current temperature of the thermostat but doesn't give me the option to change the temperrature.

I have full control in smarthings but when I first setup actiontiles and I sync with smarthings and imported my devices it wasn't in the list

Can someone advise what may be the problem?

Cheers, Kevin.

Enhanced webCoRE presence sensor integration

Shane William 7 years ago in Things & Capabilities / CoRE and webCoRE updated by KalaCanel 6 years ago 2

When using the webcore presence sensor it is possible to set a "home" location and that works great with actiontiles for showing present/not present. I am wondering if it would be possible to enhance it further to have the location show at the bottom since you can set multiple geofences in webcore. So when i'm in my "home" location it would light up like normal, however when i leave, if i arrive at another geofence location it would not light up but at the bottom the text would read "work" or whatever the geofence name i have setup in webcore would be. I'll post an example picture below shortly.

Battery in footer for Siren Tile

Michael700 6 years ago in Things & Capabilities updated by Terry (ActionTiles) (Co-Founder) 6 years ago 1

It would make my main panel look better and save same space as well.

I have battery powered Sirens outdoors and mains powered Sirens indoors.

I don't mind if the battery icon is visible in the footer for mains powered things, I already have it on some of my motion sensors.

Sonoff / Tasmota / TH10 or TH16

Anyone integrated Sonoff or Tasmota Flashed devices?

Specifically I am working on displaying pool and hot tub temp reading data from the Sonoff TH10 or TH16.

I think I can get control to turn on and off Sonoff devices with Tasmota flash by pushing IFTTT Web urls but not usre how to get a read from the Sensors. I can get a device page to return txt version of Temp information. Not sure how to parse it out and display it with action tiles. Loving ActionTiles..

Need ability to "resume" Thermostat Schedule

sflamm 7 years ago in Things & Capabilities updated by Cherokee180c 6 years ago 9

The thermostat device is missing a "resume" capability -- which tells the thermostat to stop holding the current temperature and resume its schedule.

This is really a bug - as your up/down temperature controls perform a manual hold on the thermostat and the tile provides not way to resume the schedule....

API Calls to external services

Luis Arano (AuthEx) 7 years ago in Things & Capabilities / Non-SmartThings APIs updated by Diego F. Zamora 6 years ago 5

So I mounted a monitor on one of the walls near my kitchen to use Action Tiles.

How cool would it be if we could write our own API calls with expected return values?

For instance, I know we can call out to "Media" and return maps, gifs, video, etc. How about calling out a a weather service (think openweathermap.org) using our own API keys, we could retrieve weather information for whatever timeframe we specify.

I was home alone watching a movie, I walked over to my kitchen and I knew I had put in a Pizzahut order, but it was taking so long. My first reaction was to look at that monitor, not sure why, but I know that if I had a tile where I could enter a webhook, I would totally use it for this and a bunch of other things...

Any thoughts?

Curb Energy Display

Wyatt 6 years ago in Things & Capabilities updated by Terry (ActionTiles) (Co-Founder) 6 years ago 6

I am not sure if this has been covered, but any help would be appreciated.

Now that Curb has been integrated into SmartThings, is there a way to add a tile that shows the energy consumption? There is a "Net Grid Impact" that shows your total energy use. It subtracts whatever solar you have and this is what your "grid impact" is. Of course, if you don't have solar, this is still the total you are using.

I have gone to "Authorize Things" but it does not come up.

Image 3304

Any ideas?

I don't want to add every circuit, although that might be cool as a separate panel, just the total.

Thanks!

Answer

We like to respond quickly when we can 😉 ... even if it is not the answer we would like to give...

We will put in a request to have SmartThings make the necessary correction to this Device Handler, they may deny it or it may take a very long time. They are pretty busy focusing on the new App and API.

The much faster fix:

Make a copy of the source code and paste it into a new Device Type for self-publishing, give it a slightly different name, and then assign your personal Device Type to your Device. This is done in the SmartThings IDE at https://account.SmartThings.com

Let me know if you don't know how to do this, and I'll see if there's an easy tutorial in the SmartThings Community somewhere...

Thanks,

...Terry.

Turn off Unlock confirmation

BartLanz 8 years ago in Things & Capabilities updated by Alex (ActionTiles) (Co-Founder) 6 years ago 7

When I press the tile to unlock my door it prompts with "Would you like to unlock "lock name"? Is there a way to turn this function off? I would like the door to simply unlock.

Answer

Hi Bart,

I'm sorry, but that's currently not a configurable option. We have that hard-coded for a couple of Tile types (Garage Door too, I think).

We'll consider making it an option if more folks request it.

Generic Thermostat

JeremyFXDWG 6 years ago in Things & Capabilities updated by Alex (ActionTiles) (Co-Founder) 6 years ago 3

Is there an option for a generic thermostat tile? The tile is so robust, displaying the mode and allowing the mode to be changed,I have no need for specific heating and cooling tiles. I would like just a single 1x2 tile that has setpoint controls and is not heat or cooling specific.

Nest NST Manager Home/Away tile

JRamlow 6 years ago in Things & Capabilities / Non-"Works With SmartThings" devices updated by Kevin1 6 years ago 3

Is there a way to access the Home/Away status on the Nest Thermostat through ActionTiles? I'm using the NST Manager in SmartThings and everything is working great. The number of available tiles is also very good. The one thing I'm not able to find is a way to change the status from Home to Away (and vice versa). A separate tile for this would be very helpful. I utilize home/away for setting ECO mode on/off. I've tried using Presence but have run into too many problems where all of a sudden I show as being away and my heat would go off. This wouldn't be a problem but I am in a cold climate and my normal heating is around 70 and my ECO heating is down around 45. The temps are currently in the teens. I've temporarily setup a virtual button and use Webcore to command it Present() or Away(). It works, but its not very clean as is not without its downsides keeping them in sync.

Auto-lock for Door Locks

I just added a door lock to my setup.  I used the rboy : Universal Z-Wave Lock With Alarms device type and it gives me the ability to turn on and off the 60 second Auto-lock feature.  I would love to have this as a tile on my wall mounted tablet inside the door.  Auto-lock is a huge help for me as I often forgot to lock the door previously.  But I've found when running out to get the mail or bring in a load of groceries it can be a hassle. I realize I might not be typical use case but I was hoping either it would be relatively simple to add or their are more people out there that would like the same capability.

Samsung 9350 Powerbot Vacuum

WildNeg 6 years ago in Things & Capabilities 0

Does anyone know if you can add a tile to see the powerbot vacuum?  Perhaps just to see the status of it, but controlling it would be great too.  I just purchased one and it is now setup in the SmartThings application.  I can see it from the IDE page and from my phone's SmartThings app.

I'm trying to get it on the action tiles page but unfortunately it isn't showing up as anything I can add.  Does anyone have any experience with this?  Is it even doable?  Thanks!

Play music from Yahmah WiFi speakerphone

rysm83 6 years ago in Things & Capabilities updated by Terry (ActionTiles) (Co-Founder) 6 years ago 1

im Looking to purchase a Yamaha WX-010BL WiFi speaker. I was looking to see if I could connect to action tiles and play music and control speaker from a tile simple to I believe how a Sonos works. I wanted to go with Yamaha as I found it on amazon for $79 instead of $150 for comparison Sonos.  I’m currently using an older Bluetooth speaker that’s connected to tablet and have a YouTube link tile.  This opens a new page and music stops playing if I want to go back to my panel   I was looking for a way that would play within actionstiles.  Thank you for any and all suggestions
