Using Shortcuts to open other smart home / smart device Apps?
Is there a way to add links to other programs not controlled by SmartThings app? Example "Rain Machine" (irrigation), "IControlAV5" (Pionner AVR), "Iqualink" (pool automation lighting) among others.
Can Shortcuts be used to run these?

I have been playing around with shortcuts to open apps. Using Sonos:// I can get Sonos app to load when I am in the app. I add this shortcut, test it and add it to a panel. Go out to panel and try to launch by tapping tile and nothing happens.
Been thinking, if I'm using both Android and iOS devices how could this shortcut work when the Sonos app is not the same on each device?
I turned off both of my Android tablets and tried to launch Sonos on my iPad but to no avail.
Just curious as to if it will be even possible to accomplish if we are using multiple operating systems
So, I've gotten the Tasker URL Launcher to work with Fully Kiosk Browser, however it seems to require popups be allowed and a new frame/screen gets generated when you do so. The apps will launch, but you end up having a 'blank' screen you need to back out of once you back out of the app.
Not certain if this is how ActionTiles formats the link or not. If it is, anyway to make a new frame/page a toggleable item on links to change the target from _blank to _self?
Hi Bob,
The new tab vs current tab Feature for Shortcuts that you are requesting is already in Beta. No ETA for Production, but we don't expect to wait too long. Hi Bob,
can you share how you used the tasker to work with Fully Kiosk Browser. Im trying to have sonos launch from the panel on an android tablet. I have tasker installed and fully kiosk browser also. I do not understand how to integrate kiosk browser to send to tasker and perform task.
thanks
Basically, setup the noted Tasker URL Launcher Plugin (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.aledthomas.taskerurllauncher&hl=en) and setup a task to Run the Program. Then, the link within ActionTiles is tasker://RunProg with RunProg replaced with the name of your task.
This works for me on Fully Kiosk with allow new tabs enabled (as I note above) but that's a Pro version capability. Once the feature to change how a shortcut opens in the new version (as noted above) happens, it should be straightforward to do.
I have tried and tried to make this work, it is simply not happening for me. I've tried using taske but it just opens a browser to a blank page. I've even tried adding the sonos address com.sonos.acr to fully kiosk browser white list with tabs enabled, but it places an actiontiles address prefix to the address and brings up a dead link as well. Could you possibly break this process down step by step just in case I'm missing something?
not working for me also. Im using tasker and just a white page opens when the shortcut is pressed. I have tested the tasker://arlo in another app and it works great. Terry is saying its not actiontiles.
No news, RGS.
The ability to launch Apps is subject to the limitations of the browser and/or OS.
The best option at this time is Fully (because it is a "super browser"), and that is discussed in the links in the pinned response to this Topic.
But see this for sure: https://support.actiontiles.com/communities/12/topics/1255-open-android-app-or-app-activity-via-url-formatted-shortcut#comment-12181
