Can a Shortcut Tile open an App?

Shortcut Tiles can be used to link to some Apps on Android and iOS, provided the App's developer has registered "intents": special URL prefixes.

For example, you may be able to open a Pandora, Spotify, or Nest channel with a shortcut link of the form:

• pandora://channel_name
• spotify://app/browse
• nestmobile:// ornestmobile://cameras/abc1234 Where "abc1234" is your Nest Camera ID

For Android users, a special technique can be used to launch Apps via their "registered intents":
