LANnouncer functions?

I installed a couple "LANnoucer Alerter" devices.  I expected to be able to create ActionTiles for STROBE, SIREN, SPEAK, TAKE picture, and TONE.


All I can see for these devices in the builder is IMAGE CAPTURE.  (...and that seems to work, but I don't know where those images get stored.)

Hi Dave,


ActionTiles is not compatible with any arbitrary "Thing", even if the Thing has a valid Device Type Handler. ActionTiles is written to conform to the SmartThings "Capability" paradigm and is compatible with a large subset of the available Capabilites (and we add more from time to time). The compatible Capabilities are listed here: Compatible SmartThings Capabilities (Device Type abstractions)


ActionTiles is not yet compatible with Capability "Alarm" (which includes off, siren, strobe, both). The other functions of the LANnouncer (speak?) do not have Capabilities defined by SmartThings, so these are difficult for us to implement: There are no specifications for us to conform with.

Capability "Alarm" has been Feature Requested already; so I'm likely to merge this Topic into it....
