Compatibility with other platforms?
wow! this seems like a beautiful way to have quick intuitive access to my smart home controls. Its just a shame it only works with SmartThings ... Is there any plan to expand to other smart home platforms? I specifically use Axial Control with an Aeon Labs stick on a windows PC, but I'm sure owners of other hubs would love to have AT as their visible interface.

We've actually answered this dozens of times, so I'm just leaving this open for discussion until I get a chance to merge or paste in any existing answers.
ActionTiles is not a portal app. It is the #1 Dashboard Panel builder for SmartThings, which, in turn, is the #1 smart home platform, which, in turn, can intergrate with hundreds and hundreds of devices (Things) from many different vendors. It would take a significant distraction and diversion of our resources to integrate with "other platforms". Not saying it won't ever happen; but this is further down on the to-do list than Features which will benefit our thousands of existing, loyal Customers.
ok thats all i wanted to know... bummer... smartthings may have the majority of the market share, but it still wont do half the stuff I can do with Axial.
Just checked Android Play Store... the Axial paid App has only 36 reviews and 1000-5000 installs (1% of what SmartThings and Wink has). While it may be a good product, the platform isn't an attractive market at that size for sure. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.Mls.InControl
FYI: The most common platforms we get requests for integration are Wink, Vera, and Nest. There's been interest from fans of HomeSeer, OpenHAB, Alfred/Gideon, and more; but those are "power user" products who have had a variety of UI options available to them already for years. Facing them head-on would also really spread us thin.
We "never say never"; but in the context of this Topic, it's rather obvious that we would focus on the most popular, exciting, and growing vendors / platforms, ahead of any others. Vera no longer counts as a popular platform in the smart home industry, unfortunately.
What about Wink? I'm currently using Wink Hub 2 and would like to get Actiontiles.
TBH: We don't think Wink is going to survive as a company.
I am not sure Wink as a company will close. They have decent market share. Someone may aquire them. They still have a huge market share. I am surprised that you are not investing in that product
We are not sure Wink is going to close. They just haven't given many genuine signs that they can and will hold ground against SmartThings. It's a really tough marketplace.
They still have a huge market share
If you have recent and accurate market share data (ref sources), please let us know. We'd love to be convinced they are a lucrative, growing platform. We won't ignore real numbers.
What about HomeSeer? HomeSeer has been around a long time and has a ton of people that use it. I think integration support for ActionTiles to HomeSeer would be a great idea. Thoughts???
Hi Anthony,
We don't have sufficient HomeSeer market information to determine what "a ton of people" is. If we're able to confirm a lucrative market, then it may be a good candidate. "Long time / Legacy" platforms give us mixed feelings, as some of them are likely losing market share to SmartThings and other new products, and their total user base and potential market may actually be shrinking.
If you have a source for actual number of HomeSeer customers (and how they can be reached), please let us know.
Thanks.
Hello,
I noticed this is a couple of years old now, anymore thoughts as to supporting Vera?
Thank you,
jeff
Hi Jeff,
At the moment integration with other platforms is not on our priority list.
Thanks
