Slow to load when switching over on IPad

Tasmin 7 years ago in Browsers Tablets Phones / Apple updated by Terry (ActionTiles) (Co-Founder) 7 years ago 3

My goal was to run this on an IPad with it being on a photo frame app most of the time, but double-clicking the home button to switch over to Action Tiles panel. However when I do this I see a white screen for up to 17 seconds before it loads the tiles. Is there another way to do this?

  • Exactly what mode of iPad, please? What browser?
  • Are you running anything else on it?
  • You said it is slow to load... If you dedicate the iPad to ActionTiles (at least most of the time) then you shouldn't have to reload very often, right?
  1. I will have to check the version of the Ios on the ipad when i get home. I access ActionTiles via the native safari browser.
  2. The slow to load happens when I switch from photo app to the ActionTiles screen each time.
  3. If I just have the  ActionTiles screen up, then its fine. But I wanted to dedicate it to a photo app (shows my flickr photos in a slideshow) most of the time, but 'double click' the home to switch over to the ActionTiles screen to check temps and click buttons.  No other apps are running in the background.

It's not the version of iOS I'm most curious about... It is the age (Model Number / generation), please.

  • How many Tiles do you have on the Panel you load most frequently?

We do try to optimize the performance of ActionTiles and have some "drastic" ideas in mind for some future when we can prioritize this over other Feature Requests; but there's only so much that can be done with old hardware and whatever quirks iOS may have compared to Android, unfortunately.
