Investigating

There are some indications this may be caused by a current SmartThings Platform Partial Outage.

Please stay tuned to this post for updates!

indeed.

To top it off though, it's also kind of nice to see that, in a context where perhaps hundreds of SmartApps never get mentioned on the SmartThings status page when there's some sort of outage, this time, this one is there...

New Incident Status: Identified

We continue to investigate an outage impacting third party integrations such as Alexa, Google Assistant, and ActionTiles.

Yes!!!

I've been on Slack with Brad M. (SmartThings support manager) since 1730h PT. He's been very helpful in helping diagnose this and other communication. I believe he proactively ensured that the SmartThings Status Page was updated with a mention of the impact on ActionTiles.

We are very grateful.

For me, it wasn't just ActionTiles, even my Google Home assistant did not turn off two of my Cree light bulbs. The Smart things app did the job.

Smartthings app was unable to access dashboard -- now ok. Alexa (echo dot) and smartthings app able to control devices. Automatically "armed" smartthings was unable to disarm -- now ok.

Slowly getting used to Action Tiles -- love it!

SmartThings has identified the issue and is working on it.

I bought a cheap Android tablet and mounted it to my entrance wall and use it for ActionTiles. Absolutely the best smart device I've set up so far.

Yay! It's not you. It's me. lol

Bad for SmartThings. :(
Good for ActionTiles. ;)

It's a relief to discover that I didn't mess something up when I was doing some minor configuration tweaks before my nap...! 😱

But an outage is never a good thing, however caused.
