Really Big Digital Clock & Time Zone option

Den 7 years ago in Panels (dashboards) / Special Tiles updated by MaxVonEvil 5 years ago 11

My Panel contains all the Tiles I need and there is still 50% of screen available on my tablet. It would be great to have a big digital clock on that extra area. Nothing fancy, no alarm clock, just simple clock.

Actually, there is nothing wrong with the present Clock tile if only the user could change the size to at least 5 by 3.

There is a technical limitation of making a tile any bigger than 3 spaces wide. We should consider making a bigger, 3 x 2 clock tile.

A 3x2 Clock tile would work for me. It is big enough for me to see a couple feet away and would be the same size as my Media tiles.

It would be nice to have a bigger clock and also include the weather. At least the temperature and if it is sunny.

As you can see from this screenshot, the displayed "Time" within the "Clock" tile could be enlarged so that you would be able to "see" the "Time" from several feet away. Also, the "Date" and "Day" could be centered with also a little bigger font.

I would like to see the Clock tile have the option to show the local time (at the SmartThings hub) rather than the time at the web browser. I have two locations, each of which has Things that are supposed to change status at scheduled times. One is in Arizona and one is in Washington, and frequently I'm in Illinois and want to check whether everything is going smoothly. Throw in the fact that AZ does not switch to DST and it taxes my tiny brain to validate the event times.

It would probably be more powerful for us to allow arbitrary Timezone to be selected for each Clock tile.

Though we know the Time Zone of each Location ... a Panel may consist of Tiles from many Locations!

Terry's concept of arbitrary Timezone for each Clock tile would be awesome.

I live in the USA but interact with folks in Europe and Australia, it would be great to be able to see at a glance what time it is in other locales.

I'd enjoy seeing this too!

I'd like to use the device running ActionTiles as the main clock in the living room.

ATM, I have a separate digital clock with has the time and weather on it. I'd love to replace that with ActionTiles, though ATM the time can't be seen from very far away.

Note that I also think this would be a neat feature for the weather :-)

I've voted for this as well. Would be great if there was an option to configure a timezone offset to the displayed time. Then it wouldn't matter where the clock gets it's time from as the minutes are the same everywhere as far as I know.

Btw, does anyone have a link to a PNG/GIF rendered analog clock somewhere online? Timeanddate.com and many others are unfortunately iframe/flash based, so they can't be used as things are right now.
