I've used a virtual switch to also turn on if there was any movement at
all for a period of time. This can be useful if you're monitoring
someone home alone.  I'd like the switch to be more reflective of a
movement event.

There's a great solution for this use case in the ST community. This virtual device translates virtual binary states. So, in your case, you can set the value of a virtual Switch and get the corresponding value in the Presence Sensor Capability.
