Wemo Power Meter Tile for ActionTiles?

Samsung outlets allow a power usage tile, but not wemo. Any plans to Include Wemo?

Hi Steve,

Short answer is a Question: Does your Wemo Outlet show Power draw inside the SmartThings App? If not, then it is very unlikely it does not supplies the data that ActionTiles needs for a Power Tile.

ActionTiles classifies its Tiles by their "Tileabilities"™, which are based on SmartThings's Thing interfaces called "Capabilities". For details, you can reference the SmartThings developer docs; in particular, I'll link to Capability "Power Meter": http://docs.smartthings.com/en/latest/capabilities-reference.html#power-meter

ActionTiles doesn't have a Tileability for every SmartThings Capability (yet!), but we obviously have the most popular ones: Switch, Contact Sensor, Color, etc.. ... and; as you noted, we have Power Meter Tiles.

But ActionTiles can only use data supplied by SmartThings for your Thing. If you don't see a Power Tile as an option for your Wemo outlet then it probably means that either: (a) the hardware device itself doesn't have that functionality, or (b) the Device Type Handler that you are using (or was automatically assigned to the Thing when you added it to your Hub...), does not claim Capability "Power Meter" or does not properly implement it.

Hi Terry,

ah yes gotya, this is not the case. Wemo power usage does not appear to be reporting in the Smartthings app.

All solved now.

Many thanks.

Steve
