Tile is labeled a Placeholder, so it seems to not update

Jon Stolz 4 years ago in Things & Capabilities / Non-SmartThings APIs updated by JennyB617 3 years ago 5

I have a tile based on switchbot humidity level, but it seems to not update.  It is connected to smartthings, and not sure if it is updating smartthings. In the info area on ATiles it says it is a Placeholder.  what is that?

Some Cloud-to-Cloud (C2C) integrations display their device as "placeholder". This usually has no effect on ActionTiles.

However, please make sure that the humidity value in SmartThings is displaying proprly. ActionTiles can only display values as seen by SmartThings.

What do you mean by, "this usually has no effect on Actiontiles"? Because I just migrated ST Classic to new ST and my door contacts say placeholder.

HI, yeah can you explain the "Placeholder" Tile a bit more? my temp and humidity sensors (and I think a few others) are showing up as placeholder tiles and I can't change their intention ( I would like to change their intention so I can change their color and Icon so make the panel a bit easier on the eye)

Placeholder refers to the names of Device Type Handler. This has no effect on tiles.

What do you mean by that? There are no "placeholder tiles" as such. Please provide more details or a screenshot.

HI here is a screen shot of the tile that I have for the indoor temp sensor that comes from my Honeywell thermostat. At the top where it says Tule type it says Placeholder@home and there are no customizations available

this one below is from a SwitchBot Humidity and Temp sensor
