Fully browser pull-to-refresh incompatibility
When pull to refresh is enabled in Fully Kiosk and I scroll down in AT, I cannot scroll back up. The only option is pull to refresh. Same behavior on 2 different tablets and confirmed by the Fully developer. He redirected to AT support.
Thanks for your help
Feedback from Fully support:
I can reproduce the issue with Fully Kiosk on Android 6.0 with the latest Webview.
Unfortunately there is nothing Fully Kiosk can change as this behavior is completely in charge of the Android Webview. Probably Actiontiles.com changes something in scrolling behavior intentionally as no scrolling bar appears in Fully (other than in Chrome on the same device). However in Chrome pull to refresh is out of order for this site (other than in Fully). Something is going wrong in the webengine. Sorry, Fully can't change this. Ask Actiontiles guys to make their website more standard compliant.
Answer
Hi Jean,
It should seldom be necessary to refresh ActionTiles, so we recommend that Fully users disable the "pull to refresh" option.
Every ActionTiles page has a RELOAD menu option or button available on it, either on the left-Side-Nav menu or, when viewing a Panel, in the "(...)" Floating Panel Options menu.
Please contact Support@ActionTiles.com if you find you need to frequently reload ActionTiles. It should not be necessary, but we would like to understand what you are encountering.
Thanks,
...Terry.
Hello and thanks for the quick feedback
Indeed I would prefer not needing the reload. The reason I need it is that - when the tablet wakes up on motion - the screen regularly shows the connecting screen eternally. This doesn’t happen in Chrome but it does in Fully.
Seems to happen more often when the tablet is battery powered.
I will also check out the reload from “...”.
Thanks!
I'm running 24x7 on a Fire HD8 with Fully, but always plugged in. Indeed, something causes the network to drop sometimes (overnight mostly); I think it may be notifications or some other process that FireOS runs overnight? I wish that the Fire was rootable or could run a custom ROM as this would be easier to diagnose. Lots of our Customers run Fire tablets though (both 7 and 8), and this network disconnect / unable to reconnect has not been reported more than a couple times - I watch all the various Forums and Facebook user groups too.
Oh... but you are running Android 6.0; on what type of tablet or phone? Try to make sure there is no "power-saving" option that may be shutting down WiFi.
Since I experience the problem pretty regularly, hopefully we can discover the various possible causes and mitigate them someday. It may be a Fully bug? I'll run in Silk for a while on the same tablet and see what happens... etc.
Meanwhile, the best workaround for anytime manual reload?
By swiping from the left edge of the screen, the Fully browser settings will appear (unless you have it locked). The option "Go to Start URL" will reload ActionTiles and is likely the most convenient way at this time.
One thing about the reload in AT: can’t use that when the issue happens since I get the connecting screen which doesn’t show the “...” button.
I use the “Go to start url”, always twice. The first time I get an out of resource message from fully. Next reload AT loads correctly.
The first time I get an out of resource message from fully.
I experience this as well, but we don't know if this is a Fully issue or ActionTiles.
- Do you have Media Tiles on the Panel? What sort? We had a memory leak with them once, but believe we fixed it.
- If you can concurrently or alternatively run the Panel on other than Fully it will help pinpoint the culprit. Currently, I cannot replicate the problem.
Thanks.
I have 3 webcam images refreshing every second. (No mjpeg streaming possible :( ). issue is not happening in chrome.

Please try using a slightly less frequent refresh rate (perhaps 5 seconds, 10 seconds) and see if it decreases the frequency of network connection and/or "out of resource" incidents. Meanwhile, if we replicate the problem ourselves, we will escalate to Fully Support (though you're encouraged and welcome to contact them as well; super helpful support / developer!).
