Samsung Water Sensor Thing doesn't appear

TomOhm 8 years ago in Things & Capabilities updated 8 years ago 5

Hello,

I have two Samsung Water sensors. One called "Boiler Leak Sensor" and the second "Downstairs Leak Sensor". They are both Samsung Sensors. Both appear in the Samsung Mobile App and the IDE Login page. I can't find the "Downstairs Leak Sensor" in ActionTiles in either of the 3 panels I created. It is not listed in the Panel when I select add things. Not sure what to do. Thanks

Well... Darn... Now by playing around and creating a new location... it now appears!

Sorry about that. BTW... I really love the update on the new ICONS for things! THANKS FOR EVERYTHING!

That's great news, Tom!

There used to be a problem with an old DTH for SmartThing's Water Sensor, which I think is the same model, so I thought it was odd that you were running into it, since it was supposedly fixed.

Looks like it was fixed after all!

Thanks for the compliments,

Enjoy ActionTiles,

...Terry.

Hi Tom,

It's the Samsung Leak Sensor - the water detector made by Samsung.

Model - ST-CEN-MOIS-1/F-WTR-US-2

I bought it from Amazon, here is the link from Amazon that shows it.... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00MOIYIN6/ref=sr_ph_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1492454686&sr=sr-1&keywords=samsung+leak+sensor

I am not using any custom device drivers for it. When I added it to the hub, the hub found it right away. Also, please note that I purchased two of these devices and one was found in the Panel list just fine but not the other. Both sensors are listed in the Smartthings Apps without issue.

My setup is rather simple... the only SmartApps I use is ActionTiles, Amazon Alexa, AlertMeIfASensorIsOpen and SmartAlarm. I don't use any custom drivers for my "Things". I tried once with a Monochrome Motion sensor and it was a nightmare so I only use "Things" that don't require them.

Maybe this will help...

above is the Device Handlers I mentioned for MotionDectors... i can remove them because I don't use them and they are NOT linked with the Water Sensor. But as you can see, no DH for the Leak Sensor.
