I'd love to have the ability to add a tile that would bring in today's events from a calendar like Google or outlook. Could this be added as an enhancement?
agreed, but would be iCal for me which I guess would be more difficult with the 2 step authentication Apple uses. None the less would be a great feature
We appreciate when customers don't underestimate the level of difficulty that implementing any particular idea might be. Sometimes we get lucky and we get a lot of value relative to the effort; in other cases, not so much.
We just published this KB/FAQ Article: When are Feature Ideas in the Forum going to be implemented?
I was just asked about something like this on the Smartthings forum yesterday. Would love a tile that looked similiar to the Google Calendar Widget found on Android phones. Something showing the appointments for the next several days.
Another vote for Google Calendar integration. We use a shared calendar so if that could be embedded on the dashboard I'm building, it would be a great addition.
Wouldn't you be able to add a calendar feature using a media tile? I have been trying to figure out how to use a media tile to create the local weather, similar to my iPhone's weather app.
Media Tiles are currently limited in functionality to either a video stream or a "static still image" (which also happens to include GIFs, like weather radar: There's a Topic started for that, which needs a lot more examples, but visit:http://support.actiontiles.com/topics/1162-share-your-favorite-weather-media-tiles/)
ActionTiles currently does handle embedding non-image content, such as calendars, RSS feeds, or even entire mini-web pages, etc..
This here Topic is to discuss (and assess interest via Topic Votes) the specific case of Calendar Events. This implementation scenario may lead to other types of embedded content.
My way around was setting my google calendar as a hyperlink that I can click/tap to display the calendar for the day.
I was able to import my google calendar to google sheets and publish as an image. It is manual though, it doesn't sync continuously and show today's events as I would want. see.... https://community.smartthings.com/t/google-sheets-charts/74350/56
