Can the PIN Protect option likely to be added to the floating Panel overflow Options menu button?

Howdy!

Unless this is trivial to implement, we think the current workaround below is sufficient:

  • Use the "Panel Options" button Shown toggle setting under Panel Settings.
  • By setting this to Off, the only way to escape the Panel to get to configuration pages and config settings is to change the address in the URL bar or use a different browser / tablet.
    • If this setting is used on a Shared Panel and accessed via a Buddy Login, no other Panels or settings will be accessible to the Buddy, even if they can reach a different URL.

Thanks,

...Terry.

PINNED

The current design assumes that, for a Tablet exposed in an area with multiple users, it will be logged in with a Buddy Account with restricted access to only specific Shared Panels with an appropriate set of Tiles.

A "head of household" or other administrator can Logout and then Login using his/her own Account which perhaps owns all the Panels or is the Buddy of a greater set of Panels. This functionality is available now.

Of course, we understand that the option of PIN Protection for specific Panels even while remaining logged-in adds an extra layer of security, as well as eliminating the need to switch Accounts as per the current workarounds.

I would also like to see pin protection for entire panel. The above answer doesn't even come close to what we would like to have.

For a "Buddy" account do we have to pay for another instance for AT or just create a general basic account and use that to log in to AT from the tablet?

Hi Keaton,

No charge for "unlimited" Buddy accounts under the current License offered, VPL1 for ActionTiles V6.

This would be tricky to implement. We have to figure out if this is doable...

Copy that.... I know it's a big wish but the benefits are huge and I know a lot of AT users would love to see it added.
