Media Tiles update interval has been 'sketchy' since about the time of the retirement of groovy

Since around the time of the the retirement of Groovy my static image media tiles have not been updating on a consistent basis.  It does not seem to matter what I set the refresh interval to - I have also tried leaving it blank.

Clicking on them does not refresh them which I also find strange. I can 'force' a refresh by reloading the panel or restarting the browser but that is not what I want.

Any thoughts?

The media tiles are not dependent on the Groovy platform in any way. Some image hosts include guards against hot linking images in external apps, which might be the case for your image. Please provide the image URL for investigation.

Thanks for the response.

I did not intend to tie this issue to Groovy - I was only trying to place the start of the issue in a time frame.

The good news is that based upon your response I was able to determine what the issue was.

The server hosting the image was at fault, but not in the way you suspected.  What was happening is that the image was not being updated on the server in a timely fashion, therefore AT could only access what was there -- which was not typically current

To make matters worse the method I was using to check the image was refreshing it on the server.   So the problem was masked by that.

I re-wrote the cron job that refreshes the image and Voila!

Great! I'm happy you were able to resolve this!
